If you sent funds to Nifty's and are unable to locate them, in this article, we'll explain the steps taken to locate your funds and what to do to retrieve/use them.
Before getting started...
We'll want to note a couple of key important details before moving forward with troubleshooting the location of your funds.
Nifty's operates/uses DAI to conduct transactions on the marketplace. This DAI is usable on the Palm Network. ETH is currently not supported on Nifty's marketplace along with the Ethereum mainnet.
At this time, you cannot swap ETH for DAI on Nifty's. This process would have to occur separately off Nifty's before using the bridge on palm to bridge your DAI from mainnet to palm network. More information on this here and here along with details in the article below.
Currently, Nifty's only supports MetaMask as an external wallet as MetaMask has the capacity to operate on the Palm Network. If you sent your funds from a separate source that does not support the Palm Network or sent your funds from an unconfigured MetaMask wallet, it's likely your funds are located on the Ethereum Mainnet vs. the Palm Network. Additional instructions/details below.
Locating your DAI
As mentioned above, Nifty's operates on the Palm Network and uses DAI as its currency on the Nifty's Marketplace. If you didn't directly purchase DAI from our partner Wyre, and instead sent DAI on the Palm Network to Nifty's, your DAI will correctly show under your Palm tab on your Nifty's wallet:
If your DAI isn't present under the Palm tab, you'll want to then check the Ethereum tab. If your DAI is present under the Ethereum tab, this means that your DAI was sent on the Ethereum mainnet vs. the Palm Network that Nifty's operates on:
I confirmed I incorrectly sent the DAI and it's located on the Etereum tab, so how do I use it?
In order to have your DAI be usable on Nifty's, you'll need to bridge your DAI from Ethereum mainnet to Palm Network. You can do this by using the following steps:
You'll need to begin by withdrawing your funds to MetaMask. Instructions for how to withdraw can be found here.
Once your funds are withdrawn, you'll want to use the Palm Network bridge via your configured MetaMask wallet to bridge the DAI from Ethereum mainnet to the Palm network. Instructions for using the bridge can be found here.
Once your DAI has been bridged, you can then send those funds back to Nifty's via MetaMask where they will be correctly displayed on the Palm Network tab in your wallet.
What if I sent ETH to Nifty's?
ETH is currently not supported on Nifty's. If you sent ETH to Nifty's, your funds will show on the Ethereum tab of your wallet.
It's important to note that the ETH displayed will only show the initial 2 decimal places rounded up. For example, if you sent 0.00003 ETH to Nifty's, the wallet would only register it as 0.00:
As these funds are unusable on Nifty's, in order to recover those funds, you can proceed forward with using the steps below. Included is information on swapping your ETH (should you choose) to DAI to use on Nifty's.
To begin, you'll need to withdraw your ETH using our private keys export method and importing said private key into MetaMask. Instructions for exporting can be found here, instructions for importing the private key into MetaMask can be found here.
Nifty's doesn't yet have the ability to swap tokens, so once your private keys have been exported and imported into MetaMask, you can proceed forward with swapping your ETH to DAI on a separate platform. In the case of MetaMask, you can swap tokens directly on the wallet. More information on swapping through MetaMask here: https://metamask.io/swaps
Once your ETH has been swapped for DAI, you'll want to use the Palm Network bridge via your configured MetaMask wallet to bridge the DAI from Ethereum mainnet to the Palm network. Instructions for using the bridge can be found here.
Once your DAI has been bridged, you can then send those funds back to Nifty's via MetaMask where they will be correctly displayed on the Palm Network tab in your wallet.
